Geographic Barriers to Health Goal: To reduce the geographic barriers to accessing health for people of New Hampshire.
Investment to Date: $3,582,588.00 New Hampshire's scenic rivers, mountain ranges, lakes and agricultural lands defined our economy and still create boundaries today. Those boundaries can also become barriers between our residents and the resources that improve their health. Many of us rely on public transportation or family and friends to get us to and from food shopping, work, family gatherings and community events. Acess to oral, mental, primary and specialty health care can be a significant challenge, whether it's a few blocks or several hours away. The Endowment focuses on both ends of the problem - seeking better ways of moving the patient or user to the services and seeking better ways to get the services to where the patients and users can access them.
