Recognizing the importance of New Americans to the future vitality of our state, we aim to foster the integration of immigrant and refugee community members into economic, social, political, cultural, educational and other domains of community life in NH. We specifically use the term immigrant integration to emphasize the respect for and incorporation of differences and the need for mutual adaption. As an intentional effort, immigrant integration engages and transforms all community members, both native born and newcomers, reaping shared benefits and creating a new whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.
Through the NH Immigrant Integration Initiative, long-time residents and emerging immigrant leaders in four New Hampshire towns are working together to create Welcoming Communities. With your help, we can create stronger communities and a stronger economy for all.
The Endowment for Health is also supporting the work of Welcoming NH, a statewide table for collective action and shared learning to advance immigrant integration for all communities in New Hampshire. For more information, contact Eva Castillo, Welcoming NH Coordinator.
