The offices of the Endowment for Health are located at 14 South Street in Concord, New Hampshire. Our building, like many structures in Concord, has seen many uses since its construction as a home by Sylvester Marsh in the late nineteenth century. Sylvester Marsh was the person who developed the concept of the Mt. Washington Cog Railway in 1857 and subsequently oversaw its completion in 1869. Over the next 130 years, the building changed from a private residence into commercial space, which has included a dental practice, a law office, a pediatrician, and a variety of other business enterprises – a recent visitor to the Endowment recalls coming here as a child to see her pediatrician. The Endowment for Health leases the first two floors, which constituted the original home. A ramp in the front provides access to individuals with disabilities. We have two moderate-sized conference rooms on the first floor and welcome their use, as available, by other nonprofit organizations during business hours. Anyone interested in using this space can contact Ms. Peg LePage at 228-2448. |
